THE BEACON OF LIGHT COLLECTION IS FINALLY HERE!

I can’t believe it’s here! My very first collection is now LIVE! I’m so excited to finally let this cat out of the bag and announce the launch of the Beacon of Light Collection with you guys! It’s a very small candlestick capsule collection series created in partnership with Azizi Life. Azizi Life partners with Rwandan artisans to bring beautifully hand-crafted sustainable, and functional essential goods to our homes while bringing hope to these artisans by affording them adult literacy and the opportunity to provide for their families. All of their products are crafted by hand and made from responsible local, natural, and renewable materials. As someone who loves to serve others and has been volunteering my time doing just that since the age of fourteen, I’m naturally drawn to selfless philanthropists. For this reason, I’ve come to admire the spirit behind this company and its purpose. I’m so delighted to share all the little details, the vision behind the collection, and all the steps we took to get here. I hope you love the collection as much as we do and that these pieces may be a beacon of light – letting their flickering light in your homes bring you a bit of hope each day no matter how dark and dramatic the events of life may appear.

THE STORY BEHIND THE COLLECTION

For me, making homes beautiful isn’t just about the superficial surface aesthetics of beautiful décor as much as it is about creating an environment that nurtures from within. A sanctuary that helps with your mental state and well-being. Simple luxuries like candles are one of those must-have décor accessories that I find to do just that. There’s nothing like the power of the flickering warm glow of candlelight that instantly creates a peaceful ambiance, setting a feeling of calm that helps soothe our soul and lift our spirits.

When Azizi Life pitched me the idea to collaborate on designing a set of candlesticks, I was immediately drawn in because I love love love candles! And candlesticks are the first things I reach for when setting a table, whether I’m preparing for a large gathering or for an intimate dinner for date night. Meaningful living is so much more than just getting by. It’s about elevating our everyday life by creating and relishing in enjoyable moments that bring us comfort, peace, joy, and contentment – doing things that add a little sparkle to our ordinary days. In these dark times, we all can use more joy and more sparkle. That’s why I know these candlesticks that I’ve deemed ‘Beacon of Light’ will help be a daily reminder that inspires you to add a little sparkle of light to your life.

THE COLOR AND DETAIL OF THE BEACON OF LIGHT COLLECTION

These beautifully wooden tapers each artfully handmade from sustainable gorgeously grained Jakarta wood have a time-worn look that lends the perfect organic texture to your tabletops. The distinctive twist design detail stained in a warm mahogany hue on the candlesticks adds an element of timeless appeal reminiscent of that 19th century vintage-inspired charm. Their natural wood tones waxed to perfection, wonderful patina, and elegant shape add an organic touch to any table, kitchen shelf, sideboard, or mantle! Their attractive organic materials borrowed from the natural world suits any décor style.

CREATING THE BEACON OF LIGHT COLLECTION | BECKA BELLA STYLE x AZIZI LIFE

We started this collaborative collection over a year ago, and for several months through many emails, zoom meetings, phone calls, sending sketches and notes back and forth, narrowing down the measurements, choosing the right contrasting mahogany stain color while tweaking shade stains for the patina along the way to ensure that these candlesticks felt just right. Every element of this small collection has been thoughtfully considered and edited to perfection, so we could deliver a product that not only felt like an old treasure found abroad at a flea market during your travels but feels timeless, would be well-loved, and hopefully cherished forever.

MEANING BEHIND THE NAME: ‘BEACON OF LIGHT’

I wanted the name to be a moment of significance when we light our tapers in these beautiful candlesticks, their flickering glow serving as a beautiful signal – reminding us that no matter how dark and dramatic the events of life may appear in this mad world, it will not be this way forever. And What’s wonderful about these lovely candle holders is that since they are handcrafted, each one is ‘perfectly imperfect’, meaning each piece will be unique, as if specially made for you to help instantly make an effortless statement in your space.
