June for us has always marked our prolonged vacation time overseas somewhere, but with travel restrictions still in place, really far away vacation getaways still aren’t in the cards for us just yet. For now, road-tripping and long-term escapes – staying at our favorite places around the country are going to be our vacation of choice. This past week, we took our first road trip in California and spent a week away from the norm doing what we love best – revisiting a few of our favorite restaurant spots, enjoying some good eats and drinks, exploring, shopping, and resting. A lot of resting. One of my favorite indulgences from this trip was getting my second ever professional facial in my life! There’s nothing more luxurious than getting your face pampered, instead of my usual at-home facials. Being that this was our first extended relaxed time away from home in 15 months – slowly getting back out in the world again felt so refreshing. It was just what we needed! Such simple but yet monumental moments of life outside our house again was something I felt worth documenting in a summer highlights series. Hence, my first summer 2021 highlights No.1 series! If you’re curious about what I’m up to this summer, make sure to register for updates so you don’t miss when I publish these posts.
Naturally, no getaway is complete without a little bit of shopping. One of the exhilarating highlights from this getaway was our visit to one of my favorite tiny bungalows. There are just some places that have the ability to instantly act as a soothing balm to your heart and this place is one of them for me. It could possibly have something to do with all the goodies I scored there, too.
Being able to get out of the house after such a long time, reinforced my conviction of the importance to remain in the season of embracing the idea that rest, recovery, and reflection are essential steps in the process of living a less anxious, successful, and happy life. This only means more time to live in the present doing what you really love with those that matter – wearing comfy favorites like, airy and whimsical linen blouses to casually chic embroidered linen dresses. With the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale coming up, I’m hoping to snatch some of these fun tops that would be perfect for our next trip, including this sweet linen nightshirt.
So beautifully written and living vicariously through your beautiful pictures. Your style is impeccable and just love the whole vibes!
What a kind compliment! Thank you so much. 💖
