May End Notes

May 31, 2021
An end of the month decor ideas, on the shopping list and favorite links blog post.

Two days late, but these end of the month reflective posts have become one of my faves. I tend to get bummed if I miss putting them together. May was a busy and tiring month around here knocking out one project after another, with unintentional copious amounts of DIYs. At the same time, it feels so good to be getting so much done! From finishing the tedious task of painting all our back patio window frames black to finally realizing my dream of having a light pendant hung above our kitchen table in our breakfast nook and getting our new back patio pendant lights hung this weekend, sure brightens an otherwise trying month, for sure! On the flip side, we really have been enjoying putting in all the plants in the ground ourselves, including potting new vines on the columns of our back patio cover. It’s been a true joy watching the different plants come into bloom in the yard. We’re so grateful to have this outdoor space shaping up as nicely as it is and have that extra space as an extension of our home. All things considered, we have made some good progress, so we can soon spend our weekends relaxing, instead of running around to finish one home project after another. Here are some of my favorites links for May…

1. Ever since we upgraded to a king size bed when we made over our master bedroom last year, I’ve been intentionally curating the kind of beddings that make us feel like we’re going to sleep at our favorite hotel every night when it’s time to slide into that bed! These sheets that I’ve heard so much about sound like they’d be a great addition to enhance that luxurious experience.

2. If you follow me on Instagram, then you have likely seen that I’ve been working like crazy to get our backyard completed! There are still a few more items that we need to get, such as outdoor lanterns and these two are a thing of beauty. Talk about the feeling of being in a faraway place right in your own backyard! This pair is also pretty cool, too.

3. These side tables in this style and this bold twist design would be perfect for in between the chairs on the patio. This curved accent table option would add a great layer as well.

4. Incredibly soft throw blankets are a must for me. The soothing color palette of these old-fashioned, yet modern throws caught my eye to have out there for cozying up under the stars.

5. From the moment my eyes landed on the trend of egg chairs in magazines, I’ve been imagining getting one for our back patio. I’m thinking this one would make a fun comfortable addition to our outdoor living space. How cool is this one, and this teardrop one is perfect for reading!

6. I’ve been purging out many skirts from my wardrobe to make room for more dresses and this flirty dress (which is now on sale) may or may not have been added as one of my latest favorites.

7. H&M is having 20% plus free shipping over $40 which ends soon. I have to navigate through these flowy dresses to see what I can score. There are also these favorite high-waisted wide-leg jeans that I own in off-white and would love to get them in the vintage olive color.

8. Even though a wood bench is what we have our minds set on for a corner spot in the yard, this cast aluminum bench is also vying for my attention. It might be because of its Parisian style vibe.
