Latest Summer Trend: Maxi Dresses

June 13, 2013

This flowy halter V-neck is so chic, making a versatile option for all the summer soirees that might be on your agenda this summer. How effortless is this strapless bamboo-print maxi dress! It’s the perfect choice for a cruise or just for a day around town running errands

I think I’ve mentioned on here a few times before that I’m not much for summer. I’m pretty sure I’m one of the few people who don’t enjoy this season. And it’s not because I don’t like the sun, in fact, I love being under an umbrella on the beach taking in the summer ocean air, or strolling on the boardwalk with an ice cream cone in hand despite the ocean air leaving my hair looking like this… but whenever the temperature goes beyond 80+ degrees, I not only get light-headed and queasy, I also suffer from migraines, Did I also mention the unsightly hives that immediately emerge from my skin if I’m in the direct sunlight? As uncomfortable as all of that sounds, this year I’m hoping will be a turning point in my life in the way I look at summer. First of all, because the maxi dresses (which are my favorite pieces to wear) are on-trend right now and second, I’ll be in the beautiful moderate temperatures of California away from NYC’s humidity that’s already at an all-time high this year.

Flowy flirty maxi dresses certainly take the guesswork out of what to wear this summer on hot days.

This striped navy and white maxi dress are just classic that will stay on trend every summer. The cami maxi dress isn’t only cheery, but it can be dressed up with a blazer, a nice statement necklace paired with these shoes, or kept understated for a casual look. This embroidered silk maxi has a level of sophistication, yet is casual and the blue reminds me of the ocean.
