Design Inspiration: 1930s Hollywood Glam Style

February 26, 2013

I’ve always been attracted to the 1930s Hollywood glam style simply for its opulence and grandeur. The allurement is in its shimmery metallics and light-reflecting lavish mirrored furnishings combined with tufted velvet fabric sofas and chairs adds such a touch of luxury to a room bringing it to a level that is just dazzling. These are some of the designs that inspired me this week.

It’s nothing new that I have an infinite love for a well-tufted sofa… I’m really loving this one.

My mom asked for my help doing a tufted headboard… I will try to send a picture when it is done. Also, she made my daughter a lamp… The body is a velvet covered form with an antique iron support. Decorating the form are various types of her family and ancestors' jewelry (both real & costume). I will try to get that photographed for you as well. Your photos here are beautiful!
