When Life Hands You Lemons, Make Lemonade

Honestly, that saying is one of the many that makes me crazy because sometimes there are moments in life when certain things are happening, you just can’t find the sweet sunny side and are left to savor in the bitterness of your situation. For me, hearing that expression makes me much more sour. For that reason, I don’t associate that adage with positivity at all.

However, this past weekend we {the hubby & I} finally were able to make sweet lemonade out of the sour lemons we got hurled at us;)… yes, an experience that could have ruined our day/evening actually turned fantastic when we immediately shifted gear and did one of the things that we love to do best.  EAT! Not just stomach filling food either.  I’m talking rich, memorable, tummy satisfying fine dining. We headed to Bouchon Restaurant of world-renowned chef Thomas Keller.

The French Margarita {if you’re a margarita connoisseur, I don’t recommend it}

Oysters -one of my favorites!

The hubby’s appetizer – “Confit de Canard“… duck leg confit when translated

Making the reservation alone immediately relieved us of all tension.  Fully anticipating the experience refreshed us just as a nice cold glass of lemonade would on a scorching hot, blistering summer day. As we drove to the restaurant, you could see the kaleidoscope of the sunset across the desert’s sky… all the while listening to the beautiful sounds of Lana Del Rey {loving her music a lot right now.} playing in the car in the background.

As we arrived at the restaurant, we got escorted to what felt like our own private booth close to the open balcony with a wispy breeze blowing. The food was great, and the experience was not disappointing at all. Hope you enjoy the shots of our experience that night:

“Gigot d’Agneau” = roasted leg of lamb …{that crispy panisse served with it is amazingly different}

the perfect amount of food and very rich

                       “Truite Amandine” = pan roasted trout in butter. The hubby says:

“it was rich and very buttery…he can still taste it”

The special deserts of that night. Decadent/silky.

Creme brulee is one of my favorite desserts – Yummo!

I enjoyed the hubby’s drink much better.The Grand Cru {we highly recommend it}

I ended up ordering my own;)

The Venetian hotel lobby. The restaurant is completely secluded from all

the smoking of the casino… which is nice.

Thanks for reading;) Wishing you a safe and fun weekend! May it bring all the happiness that you deserve.

Xo,

Rebecca

Happy Sunday!
