Purple Comfort

November 6, 2012

Ralph Lauren dress {similar}, Elle tweed jacket {an oldie},Juicy Couture bag {similar}, Steve Madden shoes {also an oldie…similar}, Ralph Lauren tights, topshop necklace {similar}, Kenneth Cole watch, Link bracelet c/o of the hubby, Guess silver dome ring, Vintage sunglasses

As it gets colder outside, I find wearing sweater dresses to be so non-restrictively cozy. When you find the right kind of sweater dress, it is as if you are wearing a soft well-knitted blanky from your favorite grandma {now, as I have never experienced this, I’m just imagining in my head what it would be like having the priceless privilege of a grandma knitting something for me}.  This sweater dress is one that I have had for years and is extemely soft and comfortable!

OMG you look fabulous!! I love every single piece!! Hey what are your thoughts on mixing textures of sweater dress & tights? I am uncertain what works and what doesn't. I am pear shaped and I was wondering how I can take the focus off my hips in a sweater dress? Thank you so much!! xo

If you're looking to disguise your pear shape. I say use vertical details, such as a nipped jacket that's hip-length and V-neck dress that draws the eyes up. Vertical details elongate and tend to slim down. I mixed the textures here, and I'm happy with it, but you wouldn't want to mix a chunky knit sweater dress with thick chunky tights. Hope that helps. Thanks for the input & question;)
