January 2025 | End Notes

January 31, 2025

“Take that break. Take that nap. Take that trip. Take what you need…because the world will take everything from you, if you don’t take care of yourself.”

Hiiiiiii! I know. It seems like I fell off the face of the earth (well, from social media, at least). As mentioned before, what started as my typical first month off at the start of 2024, a break I usually take each new year to recharge and clear my mind, turned out to be way longer than planned. I never intended to be off social media the whole year. 2024 was one of the most challenging years by far, to say the least! Understandably, that rollercoaster year left me feeling exhausted and spent. That’s why the above quote is a reminder that I’m taking with me into this year as well.

However, as someone conscientious about living a meaningful and intentional lifestyle, taking the time to detox off social media and slow down without feeling the pressure to constantly post was necessary – it sure made things feel lighter. It allowed me to fill my cup, as it were. Don’t get me wrong, I missed my community here and thought of you often, but swimming upstream was more strenuous than I could bear. You know me, I looove a good sensible quote. A while ago, I read this one somewhere that says, ‘Slow life is the real luxury.’ I’m sure it’s no surprise to those of you who have been my long-time readers that this would resonate with me.

As you get wiser in life, certain sayings are no longer clichés but become even clearer life lessons. For instance, you come to recognize that real growth is not always about doing more; sometimes, it’s, in fact, about doing less, spending less time doing things that emotionally drain you. It doesn’t mean you’re lazy; it just means you respect the fragility of your life and choose what feels suitable for your nervous system over keeping up to impress others and spreading yourself too thin. The goal is to achieve more meaningful results without burnout so you can enjoy the things that matter most.

And depending on where you live in the world, I’m sure some of you would agree that barely one week into 2025, it’s already started rocky. So much is coming at us all at once, starting with those wildfires in LA. It’s a devastation that hits close to home. It has not been easy to process mentally. It’s going to take a minute. Therefore, please bear with me as I slowly get back into the groove of things again with content creation. I will start with one catch-up post once a week on Instagram, but I will aim to share more in stories.

Anyway, I can’t wait to share some major changes that have happened, which I’ll share with you one bit at a time.

Thank you for being here. I’m grateful for this tiny but mighty community I have built with you in this cozy internet corner these past few years. Your presence, connection, and support mean a lot. Here’s to courage, resilience, and thriving in 2025! 🤎
