Console Table Craving

April 20, 2015

I’ve been on an endless search for the right size console table to anchor the back of our sofa that’s now floating in the middle of our open concept space. It’s been a real challenge finding the right one that I like within the measurements that I need. I’m a huge fan of a console table behind a sofa for the overall appearance that it gives to a space, especially if you have a room that feels cold and somewhat disjointed. It presents a great way to enhance your furniture placement and provide a cozier atmosphere, which I’m after in our living room. Its versatility makes it such a beautiful and functional accent piece that it can be used almost anywhere in the home. You can use it in an entryway to create a welcoming vignette and a place to put keys when you walk in the door, for storage in the living room or to dress up the back of a sofa as is my goal in this instance. Other than maximizing available space in a room, placing a console table front and center behind a sofa creates a spacious impression and might I add, an air of elegance that is quite enchanting, particularly when it’s dressed up with strategically arranged decorative items {such as with two beautiful lamps on each end, glass vessels, a stack of favorite books, vases, candles and/or favorite personal assorted objects, including photographs} in varying heights.

{This mini white console table from CB2’s collection is the cutest, but the scale will not work for what I need, which is a bummer cause I really like it!}

{My top favorite would-be-choice, until I saw the price tag. Definitely not for a rental}
