Entertaining old friends or getting to know new friends {being that I’m in a new environment temporarily}, whether it’s a brunch, sharing a nice homemade meal or tea for two; to me it’s one of life’s most rewarding pleasures as I mentioned here before.
I’m not going to lie. The preparation part makes me a nut job and drives my poor husband crazy right before guests arrive. I need the meal to be completed and I want to be out of the kitchen before my guests ring the door bell so I can give them full attention, but really also to keep them out of my kitchen asking me if I need help. I don’t like people in my kitchen – that’s one thing that doesn’t bring me pleasure lol. I am also a perfectionist in a way and want everything just so. Now you know a little bit about me and some of my pet peeves.
Anyway, I digress. I really wanted to say that the simple act of sharing a meal together with friends and family {for those who are blessed with a family} just makes life fulfilling. If you’re not too much into that, why not try it this year – let that be one of your resolutions. Let me tell you why: by placing more emphasis on people and doing things together, rather than on material possessions, you will develop many lasting friendships giving life much meaning… thus having a happy heart.
Be more hospitable and share a meal not just once or twice a year but on every opportunity you get, and experience the reward of giving on a new level while staying connected. Some of my fondest memories are from having people over to share a meal.
Happy Friday Fashionistas!

Rebecca
