I know it’s been said that a hot beverage on a hot day will cool you down. While that might have some truth to it, I still have a hard time embracing this factoid. I especially know how brutal the summer heat can be, and you normally salivate for something refreshingly cold and tasty. In preparation of the approaching sweltering months I’ve been making a few of my favorite staples – this particular one is my twist on a simple classic that is deliciously refreshing and zingy.
Ingredients
Ice cubes
3 cups 100% cranberry juice
1 cup lemon juice
2 1/2 cups seltzer water (or sprite – if you want it sweeter)
1 lemon thinly sliced (optional)*
You can even add a few sprigs of mint if you desire
Directions
Place ice cubes in a pitcher. Add seltzer water, cranberry juice, lemon juice and lemon slices.
Stir to combine. Enjoy!
*Out of sheer excitement and a thirst for the drink, I forgot to put mine in the pitcher or on the lip of my glass. Oops! But you get the idea;). Something that would never happen if I were entertaining.
Loving the Mason jar glasses this season!
