I must say as much as I thought I was sick of driving all the time when I lived in the suburbs, I now kind of miss it because I can’t wear my pretty shoes as much as I used to due to the fact that NYC streets aren’t made for walking around in high heels. Not to mention that the sidewalks also tear up the shoes really, really quick! A lot of people will wear flats to walk to their destination and then change upon arriving, but this is a challenge for me because I don’t own flats and flats hurt my feet {I’m always in heels, so they need to be arched}. Also, the process of lugging a huge tote to carry your pretty precious heels {for the sake of preserving them} while you sport flats until you get to your destination to change into your heels can get pretty old. As a teenager it was fun and exciting to do, but I also didn’t live in the city – I guess that’s why I didn’t mind it so much.
I’m so drawn to stripes that whenever I find a striped shirt with the right dimensions, I end up buying it. I finished my striped sweater with these lovely Rachel Roy’s calf hair shooties{…which by the way are very comfortable} and of course a little sparkle goes a long way when you want to give a look pop, especially on a gloomy day which we’ve been having a lot lately, so I added my crystal cluster necklace with a hint of yellow colored nylon.
I love everything about this outfit – and you know how much I love versatility (can be worn almost all year). I don't know how you do it in heels walking in the city! I can make it about 2 blocks and then I'm dying :(. I find it amazing how much a heel can change a whole look for the better. Ps thanks for the shout-out!
Aw:) thanks! I too, love the versatility of an outfit that can be dressed down or up just by changing the shoes & accessories. Walking in heels is the norm for me, I trip over my own feet when I attempt to wear flats. The only time I'm in flats is when I wear my house slippers at home.
