Sometimes a little pick-me-up goes a long way. Most often my pick-me-ups usually consist of (but not limited to…) receiving fashion and design magazines in the mail, enjoying nice chats with great friends over a glass of wine and tasty food, or simply cuddled up on the couch with my hubby watching our favorite shows at the end of the day. However, the icing on the cake is also spontaneously meeting face-to-face with fans/clients or new people at events.
Last Thursday I was invited to Popsugar + Piperlime spring’s launch cocktail and hors d’oeuvres soiree in Soho collaborated with guest editor Aimee Song of Song of Style. Although I was hesitant at first due to the slushy rain and snow…(a truly nasty night to even get dressed up), I still decided to attend the event just for the sake of checking out the Piperlime store in person. As I approached the store, I was energized by the flashing lights from the cameraman shooting models and hopping music by DJ Harley Viera-Newton. This, along witha slew of waiters carrying champagne trays, margaritas and hors d’oeuvres made the trip to downtown from uptown worthwhile. I mean c’mon, once you mix booze, food, fashion, and sparkling jewelry together…you’re always bound to have a good time. What made the evening for me was not only meeting blogger Aimee Song, but also meeting two new amazing beautiful ladies that really made my heart joyful. When you come across people who appreciate your work and have the ability to understand and express back to you what you stand for just from a few words – it makes getting acclimated to expressing my ongoing/evolving concepts digitally via blogging all the more worthwhile. It turned out to be a productive event that makes me grateful for being surrounded by passionately talented people.
Excuse the non-professional looking photos, but I really loved the displays in the store, and all I had with me was my handy dandy iPhone camera. Plus, the yellowish dimmed spotlights didn’t help. However, the lighting created an amazing mood in the store.
Some people even said that they loved that night so much that they’re looking forward to going back just because of the mental connection that’s been impressed on their minds of the fun they had. SoPiperlime, you did a great job!

{I loved all the little vignettes setup throughout the store…even the bathroom green walls was not short of pretty neat displays and I’m a sucker for mirror displays + birdies perched throughout on some faux greens}
*You can even see a snippet of it here on video…
This looks like an amazing store & an even more amazing night! I am so glad you had this experience and inspiration that came from the event. Piperlime will be one of my first stops on my next trip!
